GRANT APPLICATION
The Grand Junction Sports Commission accepts grant requests for events that fall within the scope of the organization’s mission to bring people together through sports or recreation activities. The grant program is designed for new or developing events to stimulate the economy, interest, and participation in sports while promoting tourism and economic value throughout Mesa County.
DEADLINE FOR ALL APPLICATIONS: 60 DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT
Before filling out this form, please ensure your event meets each of the following qualifications:

Event is sport or recreational activity focused

Event organizers require additional funding to achieve event objectives and viability

Event demonstrates support and/or growth of individual or team sport

Event will generate occupied hotel room nights in Mesa County OR provide a new opportunity for the residents of Mesa County
2025 Grant Application Guidelines

Grant requests may be made up to the amount of $2,500. Requested amount is not guaranteed

Grants are awarded once per calendar year and up to three consecutive years*

Higher consideration to events that generate occupied hotel room nights in Mesa County OR during less scheduled seasons (July-August, December-February)

Approved applicants will be contacted to schedule an interview before receiving an event agreement

Approved applicants will receive 50% of funding 60 days before the event start date and the remaining 50% within 10 days of completing required post-event survey and report (provided by GJSC)
